“Highly recommend. Staff marvellous particularly the activities staff. Big shout out for Alice. You are a star. Food is excellent and cleaning scrupulous. Only wee issue is the wall paper. My mother does not like it. However everything and everyone else there is splendid.”

I came to Millbrae in October 2025. I am a registered adult nurse, and I am an experienced Care Home Manager. I have worked in social care since 2016, from being a staff nurse, clinical lead nurse, deputy manager and then home manager.
I believe that all residents in our care should receive the highest standard of care, and although it is not their own home, it should be as homely and as close to their own home as possible. Our residents' lives should be enjoyed as much as possible in whatever way they choose.

“I'm extremely happy with the care that my mum is receiving. All the staff are very focused and have a very good relationship with my mum. Staff are very approachable and keep the family up-to-date with her care. Ultimately my mum is content and her face lights up when the staff talk to her.”

“My Aunt has been a resident in Millbrae Care Home since April 2019. Over the past 18 months, the staff have kept me informed of how my Aunt is keeping - I have weekly catchups the team. Also Adhoc contact from the Care Home if additional Medications are required eg Antibiotics, Flu Jab, etc. The staff are caring, compassionate and very professional and deliver an extremely high level of care..”

“My mum has been a resident since April this year. I have always found the staff approachable and helpful. They are very patient and caring towards the residents. If I have asked for anything to be done or changed it has happened without issue. Millbrae is always a clean and safe environment. I would have no hesitation recommending Millbrae to anyone looking for a care home.”

I have been a registered general nurse for 16 years. I have worked in my role at Millbrae since November 2025, but I had previously worked in Millbrae for many years as an agency nurse. I am a busy mum to 4 children and a stepson. I also have 3 chihuahuas who are like my children. Outside of work, I enjoy family time, camping trips, going to the gym and rare moments of peace and quiet.

I joined the company in 2018, transitioning from a background in dementia care to become an activity coordinator. I have an innovative mindset and an exceptional sense of humour. I have introduced person-centred activities across the company and led a team of activity coordinators. I have gained the People's Champion Award and an honourable recognition from the Scottish Parliament. I have also embraced the role of Dementia and Wellbeing manager, supporting the wellbeing of staff, residents and their families. I am always approachable and available for a chat, offering advice or simply lending an empathetic ear. I ensure activities remain person-centred, allowing individuals to express themselves freely.
